Well hey guys,
I have a super exciting set to share with you guys – I’ve been wanting to try Tartes Rainforest of the sea water foundation so I headed to QVC who stock a selection of tastes products and discovered this amazing set what was on offer and well I sold.
Before I go into a little more detail about the products let me tell you some info. The Radiance from the Rainforest from what I can see is only available at QVC, with QVC you have a 30 day money back guarantee soooo if you find that say the foundation isn’t right for you or you just don’t get on with the products the you can return them! This is what pushed me to buy from QVC as here in the UK tarte is only available online so I’m unable to see the shades in person- the return policy gives you that peace of mind that you’re not going to risk wasting money. The price is currently at £46.92 but the opinion to pay in 3 instalments is available if you feel paying the total in one go is a little expensive. So quite a few reasons I chose to go to QVC rather than the tarte website.
I was originally just wanting the foundation which priced at £30 so for an extra £16 you’re getting 6 other products, it was an offer I just couldn’t pass up.
Now on to what you get in the set.
Rainforest of the Sea (30ml) is a water based foundation which provides a medium to full coverage, allowing you to choose what type of coverage you’re wanting depending on how many drops of foundation you use, What appealed to me about this foundation was the lightweight formula, a water foundation is sure to make sure you keep hydrated. A couple drops of the foundation will give you a light coverage, if you’re wanting To still see freekles or require a light coverage. For a full coverage around 6 drops are recommended. I do find that due to its water consistency that a sponge or a dense brush is better to apply to prevent streaks.
It’s beautiful foundation which looks very natural and feels like you aren’t wearing anything at all.
This set has the choice of 8 shades but on the main Tarte website there is more shades.
(Individually priced at £30)
The double ended Mascara and lashes primer both of which are 5ml are perfect for having a taster of the products. The Opening Act Primer you apply to your lashes which will condition your lashes and help prep your lashes for the mascara. It does give your lashes that little bit more volume but I wasn’t completely blown away by it. I would happily wear the lights camera lashes mascara on it’s own. It creates beautifully whispie lashes that give a grea curl and lift with the perfect amount of volume. It does have a very thick and almost dry formula which I don’t like but I do love my lashes.
The Amazonian Clay silk liner, this is the best kohl liner I’ve ever used. I know bold statement. It’s creamy and pigmented and smudges incredibly welll. This line comes with a little sponge at the end so that you are able to smudge. I have totally fallen back in love with Kohl liner thanks to this gem.
Next up is the Sculptor which is a contour stick, this is incredibly pigmentated you can create a real defined line with this stick and when first applied I was a little scared but it blends sooo well and creates such a great shadow. It actually looks like I have cheek bones, finally! It usually priced at £23 but on the tarte site it’s currently on sale for £10.
Lipsurgence is a beautiful coral pink which gives you a lovely wash of colour and had a glossy finish. It’s very hydrating so perfect for those who like there lips to feel moisturised but without comprising on colour. The lip pencil gives you great control of application. Although I’m not one for a glossy finish, the pigmentation of the colour has sold me, it’s beautiful everyday colour.
Finally the set comes with a beautiful lilac makeup bag with a the brandings logo embellished on the front. It’s a lovely size perfect for travelling and the wipeable material is perfect so that it is easily cleaned. I thought it was a nice addition to the set.
Have you tried any products from tarte?
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
