I kicked off my 6 weeks off work by a little trip to the zoo for their annual summer nights series.
Summer nights at the Zoo is an over 18s event that has a bunch of activities alongside street food vendors and bars.
My friend Simone was super excited to get her face painted, I was less eager I was picturing myself with a full on panda face and I felt like it was pretty juvenile and not for me…. I didn’t realise that what she meant was more works of art! As we stood in line I kept seeing these incredibly beautiful face painting full of beautiful colours and glitter!
Being transformed into a fairy was definitely a highlight of the evening, but you’ll never know how sad I was when I had to wash it off! What an incredible talent!
The burger I bought wasn’t the best I have ever had and was ridiculously overpriced, there was also a crepe stand too which to this day I regret not buying from! Once we had eaten and had something to drink and were finished lounging in the garden furniture we decided to have a look around the Zoo at all the beautiful animals!
There were other activities such as silent disco and photo booths! A bunch of talks.
What I liked most about it was that it was much quieter than a typical day at the zoo and as it was later on it was much cooler!
The Summer Nights event was held 3 times throughout June and as far as I’m aware happens annually!
So if you’re looking for a quirky night with your pals definitely check it out!
Tickets were £25, I got my tickets via Groupon which was doing a discount along with skip the queues option.
