I’ve often mentioned how much I love discovering idyllic little places, since I can remember my Dad would take us to hidden gems that we never knew existed until he discovered them through his work.
Sunday Morning I was thrilled when he told us he had somewhere he wanted to take us.
A bit of a miserable Sunday with a lot of rain and overcast but luckily not cold we arrived when there was a break in the weather! I had never heard of Carlowrie Castle which is located on the outskirts of Kirklistion tucked away is the dream location. Now a venue I imagine to be popular for weddings, it’s magical castle with amazing turrets and greenery climbing the walls.
It is pretty breathtaking!
There was not a person in sight, no-one talking just birds chirping away with the odd plane taking off or landing in the distance. We decided to take a little wander and found beautiful gardens tucked away, something similar to Alice in Wonderland! We found a little arch with one heart padlock,
The gardens were so beautiful, truth be told i’m not sure if I was allowed to wander around or if it were for guests only but I would honestly visit this place every chance I got and a little picnic would be even better but I guess it’s not a public park so that would probably be a little strange of me.
Upon research I’ve found that not only does Carlowrie Castle hold weddings and events but you can book either individual rooms or the entire 18 room lot! It looks incredible however on the website there is no prices so in my book that means it’s very very expensive! oh to dream…
I loved seeing a forgotten empty champagne flute, it’s not hard to imgaine people having a walk in their pretty dresses chatting and drinking wine at dusk.
I wish I had the patience for gardening, I’d love to have a garden full of colour flowers at the moment I settle for Asda roses in a vase on the kitchen table!
Hopefully you don’t mind me including ALL the photos from my little trip, but this place was too beautiful to not share.
