With Christmas around the corner, it’s been fun seeing brands releasing their festive collections and one I found interesting was from Too Faced. The Pretty Little Planner Gift Set £34 mixes two of my favourite things; Makeup and Stationary. So although it’s quite quirky and different to the kind of thing you would usually get in a typical makeup set it is right up my street.
It’s put together in a nice little leatherette agenda which has a little mirror, a pen holder and a couple of pockets.
Before I get into the beauty bits lets talk about the stationary! In this cute little set, you get a 2018 monthly overview planner which has sweet little dates e.g. National do what you want day etc… it also gives you facts about different too faced bestsellers. It’s a lovely slim booklet which is very travel-friendly. My only critique is that there are no UK holiday dates in it, it has the US date for Mothers Day, not the UK. Along with the diary is a sheet of stickers, I live for stickers and these are adorable with a mixture of Too Faced favourites and some other designs! I can’t wait to use these in the New Year in my bullet journal.
The palette itself comes with 15 shades most with very festive names. There is a great combination of glitters which are perfect for the end of year celebrations and mattes.
The quality of the shadows are some of the best from Too Faced, my particular favourites; ‘Werkshop’ and ‘Good as Gold’ need just one coat of colour to create an opaque finish.
As all of the fun begins for Christmas I know I’ll be wearing the purple glitters and gunmetal glitter in the shade ‘Silent Night’. Wrap it up is a berry purple matte which I have been wearing with eyeliner for more casual days. Although there are golden, burnt orange and plum shades that are more popular in Autumn and Winter, there are also a few lighter colours that could be work all year.
I’m personally a big fan of the combination of colours, I don’t have a palette that holds this mix.
The packaging is nice and sleek, of course, this means there is no mirror which might be a flaw to many.
You also get a deluxe mini of the Better Than Sex mascara which is an iconic product in the Too Faced line – it creates big, volumised lashes, this mascara is really popular and many people claim it is their holy grail mascara!
The Pretty Little Planner set would make a perfect gift for someone who, like me loves both makeup and planners (ahem pretty stickers too) – you could also add it to your Christmas wishlist unless you were too impatient for that and bought it yourself… (I told myself it would make good blog content… that translates too “I want the stickers and pretty glitter shadows”).
I think the price is also really reasonable for the extras that you get with the palette.
The Chocolate bar palettes are £39 and this palette matches the excellent quality so I really felt that this was priced really well.
What are your thoughts on the set? Perfect or a little bit random?
