Welcome back to PennyxxLane today we are talking about the dreamiest palette of the year (so far… it’s only March so brands have plenty time to create a competitor). At the beginning of 2017 I picked up Too Faced’s Chocolate Bar and it continued to be my most worn palette of the year and I fell in love and it became the palette I didn’t know that I always wanted. So when the Chocolate Gold Palette (£39) was announced in all it’s glitter goodness I was ready.
Unlike its sister product, this chocolate Gold palette is much more glitter based which I am all about at the moment – although you may look at this palette and think it may be for more evening – going out type events there are quite a few colours that are perfect for everyday occasions – there are a couple dusky pinks/rose gold shades which are the shades I’ve been wearing the most. The pigmentation is really great which isn’t always the case with glitters, sometimes they can be heavy with glitter but lack the colour which is in the pan but Too Faced don’t let us down with the incredible colour pay off, literally one swipe is enough to cover your eyelid.
Then there are the more out there and the vibrant shades, Chocolate Gold is something special and looks gorgeous with New Money the vibrant pink with blue undertones. The shades blend really well together so it’s easy to create different looks that look great.
There are four matte shades which aren’t my favourite as the formula isn’t as pigmentated as the rest, you do need to build the colour up – the colours aren’t as creamy and have a more of a chalky consistency – there are definitely other mattes that I would choose to use over the ones in this palette which is a shame because I’m all about the shade So Boujee.
There are definitely colours that you could wear every season of the year and as I said for both casual and for evening events but if you’re not into glitter eyeshadows I would think twice about it as the glitters are heavy there is little subtly about them.
I don’t know about anyone else but my eyes can be easily irritated when I wear glitter shadows I think little specs falling to my eyes which bothers my contacts but I’ve not had any trouble with that with this palette, in fact, I don’t have any trouble with fallout at all which is great.
The Chocolate Gold palette is a welcome addition to my collection and I hope I get as much use of it as I do with the original.
