The latest skincare brand for me to explore is Neutrogena and their newly released Hydro Boost range which is aimed to deliver a boost of hydration. I picked up the Water Gel Cleanser (£7.99) and the Gel Cream Moisturiser(£12.99), in-store there was an introductory discount offer, so perhaps double check in your local boots store to see if the offer is still on.
My main aim when using any skin care product is that it will give me a surge of hydration so the water-based aspect of both the cleanser and the moisturiser really stood out to me.
Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser is activated with water, you massage into the skin and it melts away your makeup, my eyes* were a little sensitive when it was used so please be cautious but note that there is no warning not to use on eyes and it did remove my eye makeup very well. The skin is left feeling thoroughly cleansed – it was such an easy and simple process, massage into the skin and wash away with water. The unique trait of the cleanser is that it includes a patented cleansing technology which is paired with Hyaluronic Acid – Hyaluronic acid helps keep your collagen levels up, and collagen is what makes your skin look young and bouncy and also helps locks in hydration which this dry skinned girl needs. It also gets bonus points for having a pump!
*I have had a slight infection in one of my eyes, so that be why they were sensitive when using this product (this was an after-thought).
The Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser is a sister product of the cleanser, the moisturisers unique ingredient is Hyaluronic Gel Matrix which again helps lock in hydration but this clever little thing also releases hydration when you need it most and this is something that I think I can agree with, my skin continues to feel and look as hydrated as it did when I first applied. It is fragrance-free and despite the lightness of the gel, a little bit goes a long way and thankfully doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky or tacky, it sinks into the skin. It is a little pricier than other high street moisturisers that I’ve used but so far I’m thinking it’s worth it. I have the kind of skin that really suffers if I forget to moisturise it is that moisture deprived, however, I have had a few down days where I didn’t apply any moisturiser and my skin didn’t go all rough and harsh like it usually does so I’m really holding this product accountable. Yay!
I wasn’t really sure what kind of results I was going to expect but I am thoroughly impressed and I do think I’ve discovered a gem with the moisturiser for those who have terribly dry skin, perhaps those days of my makeup caking because my skin is in a huff, are behind me.
Have you tried anything from the range? What are your thoughts, let me know.
