Nails – 5 blues

IMG_1411

left to right- AWOL, Uptown blue, dilly dally, blueberry and Dungaree dream.

I have mentioned in previous posts my love for blue nail varnish, I can’t tell you what it is but I like blue on my nails
I have quite a collection of blue nail varnishes and I thought i’d share 5 of them with you.

Starting with Topshops AWOL I may have mentioned in this in one of my previous nail varnish posts (here) this is one of my most worn colours, it’s such a cool an effortless colour.  I can never fault topshop’s nail varnishes I think they are great. And this colour is very opaque so if you’re a little lazy when it comes to nails you can quite easily go for one coat with this and your good to go.
If you’re one for matching your nails in accordance to the season I reckon this could be an all year colour.
Next we have a much lighter pastel blue colour from Maybelline with Uptown Blue this is a gorgeous shade on the nails and is a great summer shade, I do love the colour but I find the formula a little challenging, It does need more than one coat as it will look patchy and I don’t believe it is super stay, it might be that I do a lot of work with my hands but I found it starting to chip within the first day and if it wasn’t for me loving the colour so much I doubt it would have made the list, but alas it did make the list and if you’re willing to re-apply within a couple of days then you’ll be fine, I mean who can resist this colour?
Another topshop shade is from their matte range with this beautiful ocean coloured Dilly Dally. I love this shade, it is so different and pleasing to the eye, it makes me think of a beautiful warm exotic island with beautiful blue ocean and how can you not feel all happy when you think of that. Again topshop are really great when it comes to nails and their matte range is fab! Really great formula. Dilly Dally is quite similar to uptown blue but is more darker and has a little hint of turquoise to it. It is definitely one of my most favourite colours of the moment. The matte finish is also brilliant.
Next is Barry M we can’t do a nail varnish post with a barry M this time around we have Blueberry (again I think I’ve mentioned it before but it’s worth mentioning more than once)  this is one of my all time most worn varnish, it’s just soooo pretty on the nails and it lasts quite well without chipping etc…it’s an easy shade to throw on.
We’re rounding off this post with ANOTHER topshop because really they are great! This time with Dungaree Dream and again this is in the matte collection it is a very dark denim blue colour which will be great to match those dark days during winter. If you like a dark nail but don’t want to go as far as black this is a great option as it is very dark with the help of the matte formula but not toooo dark. The texture with this is also different but very satisfying.

So there we have it my 5 favourite blue nail varnishes!
Hope you enjoyed.

Louise
