In a recent trip to Boots, I came across the Maybelline Matte Cream Shadows, I was really into the original color tattoo – pink gold was my go-to shadow to use. I picked up Creme De Rose (£4.99) a very nice nude colour.
I was immediately reminded of M.A.Cs Painterly Paint Pot(£16), a big favourite of mine. Mine has now dried up but they are soooo similar. Dupe Alert! Compared to the paint pot the colours are identical and just like the more expensive option it’s beautifully creamy and applies great. I use these to cover up any veins or redness on my eye which cream de rose does perfectly. They create a perfect base before applying eyeshadows! My go-to eye look is a nude eye and some eyeliner. Cream shadows are a great no nonsense everyday makeup item.
The paint pots I find work as a primer too as it helps keep my eyeliner from transferring onto my upper lid, the colour tattoos don’t have the same strength in it so eye primer is needed if you have oily lids like I do.
It’s definitely a great alternative to the paint pots if you’re not wanting to spend £16.
