Maybelline Lasting Drama Black Shock Gel Liner

IMG_8733So the recent release of Benefits they’re real gel eyeliner sparked a little interest in me however I wasn’t convinced enough to go and buy it. Then whilst browsing superdrug I came across this, which has the same concept. I decided to give it a go as it was cheaper and I was looking to try something new in the eyeliner area.
I was  quite nervous with the diagonal tip, I wasn’t sure how I would be able to do it. However one stroke and I knew that it was something I could get accustomed to with practice. It makes it so easy to do a flick and with practice using it I know I will get even better.
I’m sad to have to say that recently i’ve noticed that the skin around my eyes have becoming a little wrinkled, it’s not something I notice looking in the mirror only when doing my eyeliner.. anyway it’s making applying eyeliner to this part of my eyes so much easier.

On the pen it said it should be taken off with waterproof make-up remover, but I thought it being a “drugstore” brand that It wouldn’t be that strong… boy was I wrong. It. Does. Not. Smudge.

Which is also perfect as it doesn’t transfer on to my upper eyelid which often happened to me with other eyeliners without using multiple primers.(check here to read about my winning eye primer duo). I usually use the  Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to remove my make up which I really, really like but unfortunately it wouldn’t remove this eyeliner so instead I’ve been using Nivea Daily essentials Double effect make up remover (that is a mouthful) which removed it easily, so I would say that it is amust when using this eyeliner. It’s early days but I think I may have just found my new fave eyeliner… And I now may have to go buy Benefits version to see how that stands.
