I share a lot of photos of Edinburgh where I like to visit just to have a wander because it’s so pretty and today I thought I’d round up 4 of my favourite places to do so… so if you’re visiting Edinburgh or live in or around the area and are at lost with something to do on a Sunday then why not venture out and have a nice little wander…
Portobello Beach is a very typical UK beach, I love walking along the promenade and popping into the amusements and grabbing some ice cream or fish and ships… Theres also an array of little cafes to stop in for a cup of tea or hot chocolate to warm up with.
Princes Street Gardens
Located in Princes Street and with Edinburgh Castle in the background, Princes St Gardens is always worth having a wander through… anytime of the year, Winter, Spring, Autumn and Winter, it is such a beautiful setting, I love wandering through and looking at all the memorial benches… during the warmer months it’s a popular place to go for a picnic and theres an excellent play park for kids too.
The Royal Mile
The Royal Mile is really cool part of Edinburgh’s old town, with lovely old buildings and cobbled streets, During the Fringe Festival in August the Royal Mile is a must as it’s filled with street performers from all over the world doing weird and wonderful things!
A lot of organised ghost tours takes place at this part of the city. I recommend coming in the evening when it’s quieter there is something quite eerie about it.
Located on more the outskirt of Edinburgh is South Queensferry, with the Forth Bridge and Forth Road Bridge in the background, this is the perfect place to grab a ice cream and have a wee walk on a nice warm day, with small streets and cobbles and cute little nick nack shops, it’s such a lovely place to be…
It also looks wonderful in the evening when it’s dark!
Hope you enjoyed this post!
